Every thing was fine until a couple months in I was using the zoom application when the lense would no longer come out. That smile thing isn't really helpful though since you have to smile really big for it to work. I would not reccommend. First off, it's a beautiful camera. The color is nice and it has a lot of great features. Instead of waiting and paying to get it repaired I just exchanged it for a different one.
If there is any shade in an outdoor picture, the sunny parts are washed out. What a scam. And Sony gave it a really high ISO setting to choose from, because the Easter photos were all a total bust. I didn't do too much research because I was under the misapprehension that Sony didn't sell junk. I don't know how any auto-focus algorithm could come to the right focus with such poor images to work from.If we don't decide to run it over with the car, we'll have to figure out how to operate the camera in full manual mode so as not to waste future photo opportunities.On a side note, the camera can't charge through the USB, which means that you have to take the battery out to recharge it.
The lost opportunity that so many horrible Easter photos represents truly rankles.I purchased this at COSTCO before Christmas because it was on sale. Fundamentally, the camera appears to have no dynamic range. Indoors, the automatic settings appear to be choosing the highest possible ISO setting every time. Otherwise the docking station is an extra $70. I feel completely cheated by this camera, and would at any price.
As it turns out, most of the photos taken by this camera are worse than my Motorola Razor. I have never seen such grainy photos from any camera of any type at any time of day or night.Not surprisingly, the photos are frequently out of focus.

It was sent on time. There is no need for you to know about the aperture, focal length or lighting. The camera is perfect. It takes great pictures all on its own. The picture colors are amazingly accurate and vibrant.
I saw the same in many duty free stores at different countries that i went recently and they go for more than US$300.00. This is the best camera i ever seen (not professional) and the price is unbeatable. It's the best you can get.
